The History of Hethwood

The Hethwood Foundation was the first master planned community developed by HHHunt in 1971.

The Hethwood community is comprised of 461 houses and townhouses on 316 wooded acres and houses 25% of Blacksburg's residents. Five neighborhoods form the Hethwood Community.

The Hethwood Foundation is an organization developed for the administration of the Hethwood Community. Our team works to ensure the community and it's amenities are well maintained. The Hethwood Foundation offers a variety of amenities which include sand volleyball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, a swimming pool, a community center, a fitness center, five miles of bike/jogging trails with exercise stations, playgrounds, pond/gazebo/picnic area and softball area. The Hethwood Foundation also provides many social events for the residents and publishes a monthly newsletter, The Hethwood Hoorah. 

​Hethwood is a planned unit development consisting of homes, townhomes, condominiums and apartments. The Hethwood Foundation is a nonprofit homeowners association located in Blacksburg, Virginia. Our mission is to maintain the integrity of Hethwood by administering protective covenants that relate to the design, use, maintenance and architectural standards of the community. We strive to offer recreational programming within the community and to provide effective management of the amenities and common areas.
